My directorial debut Saurora is a science-fiction short film about two divers in heavy submersible suits on an underwater rescue mission that takes shortly an unplanned course. The project launched in 2014 and after 2 years of hard work it was released in 2016 on YouTube and Vimeo, gathering over 200k views. It got also featured on several prestigious sites like CG Bros, The 7th Matrix or Film Shortage.
All CGI shots were created and edited in free open-source software Blender on a shoestring budget. Moreover, 6 minutes of full-CGI underwater environment introduced a whole lot of issues that required many unconventional solutions and custom tools. Which in the end made the production experience even more unique than it already was.
